OHANA in Hawaiian means Family and it is with this rooted and border defying bond ‘Ohana Diversified Industries’ was established earlier this year. Through trials and errors we have started our journey with a rebellious thought to promote the uniqueness and the beauty of the handloom industry of Bangladesh.
Yet, our Ohana is not limited nor is it restricted to the industry of handicrafts only. Our family is not defined by borders, we are spread throughout the planet. At Ohana we strive to promote the practical usage of Renewable Energy, Eco-friendly, Biodegradable products. Our team members continuously update and educate themselves, so that we bring the best of technology from around the globe to the remotest of places. We are committed to both our producers and buyers to deliver the best one has to offer.
Over the years Bangladesh has distinguished herself as being a pioneer in innovation and becoming rapidly successful in promoting Cottage Micro Small Medium Entrepreneurs (CMSME). We believe that these Entrepreneurs are the foundation to build a stronger community and identity Globally.

A graduate from Assumption University, Bangkok, Thailand, Ms. Anushka continued her education at the University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon, Canada. Travelling and living in North America and Asia for over 15 years, Ms. Anushka acquired an invaluable insight in global marketing. Also, being well versed in more than one international language and working as an Investment Consultant for financial institutions like CIBC, TD Canada Trust, in both Saskatoon and Toronto, has only enriched her knowledge of cultural understanding which will help ensure OHANA’s success in the Global market.
After completing his education on apparel from National University of Bangladesh, it was his conviction and passion for the handloom industry of Bangladesh that drove our commander in chief to continue his learning over the years. From music to manufacturing, fabric to fashion, audio-visual to apparel - he successfully made his mark in all the fields. The accumulation of all these experiences will only ensure our continuing success and team OHANA is fortunate to have Mr. Shafiul Alam as its leader.
Barrister-at-Law, Lincoln’s Inn, UK., is one of team OHANA’s most valued members. To protect our interests in both national and global scale, to uphold and comply in ‘ Fair Trade’ Mr. Rabbiul Alam, will preside over all the legal matters at hand. To add, Mr. Alam is an Advocate, Bangladesh Bar Council, Practice, Dhaka district and Session Court, Member of Dhaka Bar Association and a Senior associate, Lex Aquilia Chambers.
Ms. Akter started her journey as an Entrepreneur in the early 2000’s as the Managing Director of Tricotex Pvt. Ltd., a 100% export oriented manufacturing unit. A mother of three children and a Graduate, it was her passion and hardwork that led to her success over the years. She was acknowledged as the entrepreneur of the year from BGMEA in 2011 for her contributions to the industry.
Mr. Helal Uddin has been an integral part of many units as a business developer and as the chief technical advisor to many pioneers of the Jute manufacturing units. After completing his engineering on textile, through hard work and experience over the years Engineer Helal Uddin established himself as one of the top leaders in the technical field in the diverse industry of eco friendly products. To our credit, it is a great privilege to have Sir Helal Uddin as our business advisor.
